Eventually this led to my becoming chair of that committee, and furthered my interaction with local community leaders. When Peter Hunt announced that he would not stand for the upcoming election, my husband casually remarked that I should run for the Legislature. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but about a week later, Peter called me to ask if I would be interested in running. With both Peter, and my husband voicing their support, I began to give the idea serious consideration.
I recall once that my husband remarked somewhat obtusely, “Sometimes you find precisely what you’re not looking for.” For once, I believe he was right. I have indeed found precisely what I was not looking for. I relish the prospect though, of working for my community in Montpelier. Peruse these pages. Learn something of me, and please, if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me.
If you are interested in following my campaign, please follow the link to my “Junctional Blog” on the Links page, a diary of sorts that describes my experiences on the campaign trail through our village. Both anecdotes and issues might be discussed, and you are welcome to join in by signing up. Also, I would like to add, whether you vote as a Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Independent or Progressive, please vote. Our very democracy depends upon it.
